New York Institute of Technology: 3D Animated Short


Christoph Roth is a senior producer for visual effects based in Los Angeles. He has 15 years of experience working in the field of motion pictures. He produced visual effects and animation for numerous commercials, feature films and TV shows. Christoph has also produced visual effects for award-winning visual effects house, Pixomondo ("Hugo", "Oblivion", "Star Trek")
Bradley Peterson is an artist creating original backpack designs at Mojo Backpacks in New York City. He has been active as a freelance artist for Disney and Pixar, and is currently working on an illustrated novel.


The College of Arts and Sciences at the New York Institute of Technology, together with are proud to present an exciting online challenge for NYIT Fine Arts students! The Computer Graphics Program in NYIT Fine Arts Department educates animators to create their unique artistic stories and ideas into 3D animated shorts. NYIT and are challenging YOU, the animator, to submit your best 3D animations. Industry jury from Los Angeles and New York will select the Judge's Picks - and those artists will have the chance to win recognition and cash prizes! So grab this opportunity to shine and submit your animations!

Directors Notes:

  • Must be a 3D animation short, under 5 minutes in length.
  • Dimension: HD720 (1280 x 720)
  • Compressed at H.264. Use Quicktime Pro, or Mpeg Streamclip (free) (use Beta version)
  • Include the NYIT and logo in the intro credits (attached).
